With a new year just around the corner, we hope you’ll take some time to spend the holiday season with the Stamford Innovation Center. From the ever-changing technological landscape to startup speed dating, this new incubator space hopes its programming encourages the free exchange of ideas and opportunities for both personal and professional networking.
This year, Facebook went public, social media became an effective and popular means of marketing, and folks everywhere embraced the ‘cloud.’ As we reflect on these changes, we must also look ahead to a new year—one bound to feature its own technological advances. Jonathan Yarmis (known as Doctor Disruptive) will be swinging by the Stamford Innovation Center tomorrow (Friday, December 14th) at noon to discuss the ever-changing world of technology, from new emerging technology and augmented reality to Microsoft and Internet privacy. Register here and don’t forget to bring your lunch.
Next week, we’ll add a fun twist to traditional tech talk and celebrate the growing Fairfield County startup community with a night filled with Startup Success Stories and Startup Speed Dating starting at 7pm on Wednesday, December 19th). Luke Scott, co-founder and CMO of deets, will discuss his company and how it places the power of creating organized groups and managing relationships in the palm of your hand. Even more exciting? The company recently received $1.5 million in a round of funding, with $750k coming from Connecticut Innovations. He’ll discuss how this happened (and more). Following the presentation, we’ll be hosting our second round of Startup Speed Dating (we held the inaugural one back in June). For three minutes, you will sit with entrepreneurs, coders, investors, and other industry leaders to learn, teach, and share. Get your elevator pitch ready!
