Local Yokel Media drew $2.15 million from investors, including the state’s technology investment and economic development arms, to refine the Stamford firm’s digital ad platform, authorities say.
CI said it put up $1 million. Local Yokel Media didn’t disclose the other investors’ stakes.
LYM CEO Dick O’Hare says it specializes in monetizing hyperlocal ad impressions for clients who include Hersam Acorn Newspapers serving Fairfield County, and DNA Info, a local news site covering the neighborhoods of New York City and Chicago, Meineke Muffler, LL Bean, and 7-Eleven.
LYM is housed in the Stamford Innovation Center.
