[Greenwich Post] Withers Bergman co-hosts start-ups panel

October 16th 2014

The international law firm Withers Bergman will co-host “Start-ups 101: A Roadmap to Successful Entrepreneurship,” on today Oct. 16 with Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network of CT (DEN CT) and Harvard Business School Alumni Angels featuring a panel of proven advisors to successful entrepreneurs and start-up companies.

The event will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stamford Innovation Center, Main Auditorium at 175 Atlantic Street in Stamford.

Panelists will address the basics entrepreneurs need to know when building a successful startup, including legal information, marketing and management consulting and fund-raising guidance.

“Successful start-ups undoubtedly begin with an innovative idea, but so do unsuccessful ones,” said Phil DiGennaro, a partner at Withers Bergman who will serve as a legal panelist at the event. “Seeing an initial idea through to a thriving business requires a keen understanding of how to raise capital, market your business and manage your staff, all while making sure you don’t run afoul of the law.”

On the panel, Mr. DiGennaro will be joined by Linda Albright, owner of Unleash Your Business and an entrepreneurial coach and consultant with decades of experience building successful companies, as well as Jason Klein, founder and CEO of early stage investment firm On Grid Ventures LLC and chairman of the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of Greater New York.

The Start-ups 101 panel will be followed by a question-and-answer session, allowing attendees to bring questions about their own ventures to the panelists. Withers Bergman regularly hosts informative events featuring entrepreneurs, with previous guests having included Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, principals of Winklevoss Capital, and Paul van Zyl, social entrepreneur and the co-founder of Maiyet.
